Cards using The Greeting Farm stamp

These just scream COPICS don't they! I can't wait until they arrive at the store.

Cards using Stampavie Stamps

Here are some photos that I took at the Stampavie booth today. Aren't they great! And yes, I did order the stamps!

CHA Day Three

Today I will try to wrap up some of the things I've seen over the last few days ....nearly impossible to tell you everything I think, but lets see what I can remember.

First, a word about cardstock. After speaking with both Bazzill Basics and Worldwin I learned that a number of overseas paper mills went out of business last year effecting both companies. Bazzill chose to have a new mill match up their colours, but the new mill is having a hard time getting some of the colours exactly right which is why they have had some colours out of stock for a very long time. Worldwin decided to go with complete new colours so all of their old colours have been discontinued. They will have stock of some of the colours but if there is a colour you like from the old line you had best stock up now.

E Clips - The E Clips is the new Sizzix digital cutting machine. When I viewed the demo, of course the question at the top of my list was, what does it do that is different from the Cricut. Sadly, the demonstrator didn't know anything about the cricut, which I thought was pretty bad but I did glean some information myself. The E Clips does have a few added features. There is a pre-cut feature which allows you to see where the cut will be on your paper before you actually cut it. The remote control looks neat, but from what I could see it seems tricker to find the shapes you want to cut. In the current software you cannot weld images and so far they only have a few cartridges.

I'm excited about two new stamp companies that I picked up today. One is The Greeting Farm. Here is their website: http://www.thegreetingfarm.com/ I like the Anya, Ian, Hope and Grace. The other company is Stampavie http://www.stampavie.com/

Slice Machine - One of my biggest peevs with this machine was that you had to hold it in place while it was cutting. It is now hands free...a BIG improvement. You are still limited greatly in the size you can cut, but it is very portable. I'm still not convinced it is something I'll carry at the store, but it can always be ordered in if you are interested.

I have to admit that until today I had never tried the Martha Stewart border punches. I was very impressed. They are much strong than the fiskars one...no fear of breaking them on think paper. Definitely something we will try!

I adored the Litte Yellow Bicycle Snugglebug Girl and Snugglebug Boy lines. I don't see them on their website yet for you to peek at.

A lot of companies were selling completed pages. There were also quite a few companies with clearance sections...something I've not really seen at CHA before. I guess it is a sign of the times.

Well, I think that wraps it up for now. I'm looking forward to heading home tomorrow!

CHA Day Two

I'm a little tardy posting this. I can't get myself adjusted to the new time zone, so I was in bed extremely early last night. But I'm here now! :>)

Oh the things we will do for Tim! He was giving out a free die at the opening of each day of the show, so I joined the ranks of the desperate mob and made a mad dash to the sizzix booth as soon as they let us in the show. I didn't get trampled, which I was genuinely concerned about, but I did end up with....

I loved Crate Paper's paper doll collection. It was even cuter in person than it was on the web, but here is the link. http://www.cratepaper.com/page/page/3692363.htm

Tattered Angels has some interesting new products. Chalkboard has the same glimmer finish as the original, but it is opaque. Glam is a water soluble paint that has the glimmer of glimmer mist. Glaze is just what it sounds like, a glaze paint. It comes in 24 different colours. I think the chalkboard looks the most interesting!

Karen Foster has some great new themed papers including HOCKEY! Hooray! As well as some other hard to find themes like baptism.

I've picked up a new company that I think the card makers will like. Their products make the cutest 3 dimensional cards. They also have decoupage elements. If you aren't into "cute" that is OK, because they have very elegant pieces as well....but I only photographed the cute ones. Take a look. These little guys rock back and forth. I'm excited for my order to arrive so I can make some samples.

Prima has some lovely new items as always. My favorite was the say it in pearls that they added little roses to. Oh so lovely! Take a look at the video on their website. http://www.primamarketinginc.com/

Well that's all for now....if only you could all be here...there really is too much too much to tell you about. My camera and I have not been getting along too well, so sadly I have very little photos to share. Maybe it will co-operate with me for day 3!

CHA Day One

Well here I am all curled up on my hotel room bed after my first very long day at CHA. There was so much to see that it is almost all a big fuzzy blur in my head, but I'll try my best to share with you was stuck out the most. I'm afraid I didn't take too many photos though, but I'll see if I can satisfy you with links. Here are a few "WOWS" for the day.

Cricut Cake - Ok, so it isn't paper crafting, but it sure wow'd me. There is now a cricut that you can use to cut FOOD! Yes FOOD. Well, flat food, like fondant for decorating cakes. Seriously, I kid you not! You can use all of your cartridges in it. Check it out: http://www.cricut.com/cricutcake/ I was too busy salivating over all the cakes that I forgot to look at the other cricut stuff. I guess I'll be back tomorrow.

Basic Grey - They never fail to disappoint! Check out the new lines. http://www.basicgrey.com/

BoBunny - Another company that I always look forward to viewing Their Mama-Razzi line will be the first I use from my sample pack. http://www.bobunny.com/winter2010release.html

Core'dinations - How many different ideas can they come up with for cardstock? They have some lovely new embossed Core Impressons and now glitter cardstock and shimmery cardstock as well. I don't see the new product up on their website just yet.

Tim Holtz - You can peek at his blog to see all of his newest releases. I didn't get the opportunity to see the suitcase machine in action, but rest assured that all of the sizzix dies have been ordered! http://www.timholtz.typepad.com/

CraftWell - I checked out this new machine that many of you have asked me about and now I've got the answers you were looking for. I still have other machines to check out. http://www.timholtz.typepad.com/

I'm running out of steam so here is a quick list of other companies you can expect to see new product in the store from in the near future:

Fancy Pants
Technique Tuesday
Penny Black
We R Memory Keepers

A few new items arrived in the last few days. Here is a peek. The top photo is a house mouse stamp. This is our first time bringing in part of there line. We have both valentines and Easter. They are so cute. Vintage Valentine from Fancy pants arrived. If you like the craft looks, some of the papers are of that style. Finally Frosted, also by Fancy Pants. I just had to take a photo of the saying on one of the papers. It is so appropriate!
